Cool Bats: Internet Summit 2017

Cool Bats: Internet Summit 2017

Eery, mysterious, hanging from their toes by sheer will. Turn the picture upside down, though, and the interpretation of these night creatures shifts. As Seth Godin — keynote speaker — said, “now they’re just cool bats.” Bats breakin’ it down, whipping out the moves to some silent disco tunes.

The Internet Summit 2017 brimmed with entertaining quips like these, along with a host of data-rich sessions featuring marketing industry leaders. From social media strategy and “Monty Python marketing” approaches to creating data-driven customer experiences and retargeting B2B digital ads, the Clairemont team spent two days geeking out on our favorite marketing and communications topics.

And for fun, one of our sessions utilized Beyonce’s moves to inspire marketing strategy. We didn’t hate that.

Want to collaborate on something cool for your company? (We can’t promise Beyonce-style dancing.) Give us a holler!

It was like magic. She started with a few Hass avocados, a ramekin of diced onions, sun-dried tomatoes and a pinch of cilantro and salt. After a flurry of action and a light clinking of spoons, our table was flourished with a bowl of fresh, mouth-watering guacamole.

And hence commenced our official research with Babalu Tapas and Tacos! We’re thrilled to work with this group of zany, creative foodies on such a fun (and can we say delicious?) concept.

We’re all just a bunch of foodies at heart, and we love working in the restaurant PR industry. Stay tuned for tasty updates!

How Do You Eat Your Easter Bunny?

How Do You Eat Your Easter Bunny?

With Easter just a few days away, we’re whipping out sweet treat trivia in the Clairemont office. According to a study by the National Confectioners Association (NCA), 89 percent of survey respondents eat their chocolate bunnies ears first. Five percent eat the tail first, and 6 percent go for the feet.

We’re all about some solid research — especially when it comes to chocolate. (We even have a chocolate factory as a client!) So we gave these stats a test run with the Clairemont team.

Research shows that we fit the bill! Four out of the five Clairemont team members polled went for ears first (except for Cherith, who wanted to buck the trend).

The NCA study also states that 81 percent of parents steal candy from their kids’ baskets. Perhaps we have our next research project cut out for us…

Happy Easter, friends!

We couldn’t possibly choose just one photo from Charleston Wine and Food Festival as our photo of the week! It was wonderful being there over the weekend with Clairemont clients Videri Chocolate Factory and Il Palio, as well as top culinary talent from our area including Ashley Christensen and Lionel Vatinet.

Curious about restaurant PR, PR for chefs and creative campaigns we’ve devised for other culinary clients? We would love for you to read more about it here. Have a specific question? Please email me at d@clairemontcommunications.com.

We love this shot of two Clairemont clients, Chef Teddy Diggs of Il Palio and Sam Ratto of Videri Chocolate Factory, taken recently at Videri’s fifth anniversary party. Chef Teddy is one of the many well-known chefs who uses Videri Chocolate to create signature desserts.

Both gentlemen will be participating in Charleston Wine+Food in March, and Chef Teddy Diggs will be cooking at the James Beard House in New York next month. But why wait for these events to experience their talents if you can drop in and see them sooner! Check out Il Palio’s hours and location here, and details for Videri here.
