75 Years of Dairy Queen

75 Years of Dairy Queen

Dairy Queen – for many people those two words are synonymous with summertime and happy memories. No one understands that better than Andrew Valkanoff, owner and operator of Triangle Dairy Queen, who loves serving treats and takes pride in the quality of service his employees deliver. He’s been a Clairemont client since the beginning of the year, but you only have to spend a few minutes with him to realize how passionate he is about his business and the communities he serves.

This year marks the 75th “Fanniversary” of Dairy Queen, so we spent some time with Andrew talking about how Triangle Dairy Queen is celebrating this major milestone.

Trends Tuesday- Triangle DQ

Trends Tuesday- Triangle DQ

Everyone has their own way to decompress after a long week. Although I love to pamper myself with a tranquil massage or veg out on the couch for never-ending Lifetime movies, I discovered this past weekend that a quick stop to Triangle Dairy Queen satisfied my sweet tooth and had me smiling the rest of the day. Since Triangle DQ is one of our esteemed clients, I know the Blizzard menu like the back of my hand.

So what’s so prodigious about Triangle DQ you ask? For me, I love knowing there is always a new Blizzard waiting for me as soon as I step into the door. Leave the classic Neapolitan flavors behind as you bask in the glory of the Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzard of the Month. If salted caramel truffles, buttery toffee pieces, choco chunks and rich cocoa fudge – just to name a few options – aren’t enticing you into a Triangle DQ store, the new DQ Bakes items are sure to do the trick.

I was ecstatic to hear about the new menu options DQ would be introducing and the opportunity to try them out for myself. DQ Bakes is a new line that features artisan sandwiches, snack melts and deserts a la mode. If you are already in love with the traditional menu items, the new additions to the menu take your taste buds to a whole different level.

Did I mention that the Clairemont team got a VIP tasting of the new menu additions? The girls and I spent an entire lunch hour serving as official taste testers for the brand. Not only was the food delicious, but owner and operator Andy Valkanoff was one of the first in the state to offer the new menu.

But for me, the DQ treats are what are sure to keep me coming back for more. Create a special birthday with a custom DQ ice cream cake, make mom smile with a Blizzard after dinner. So this weekend, skip the massage and ditch the gym. I am sure that DQ will aid in a blissful weekend and if not, your next Blizzard is on me.

The Beauty of Raleigh PR: Day 23 – DQ Cakes

The Beauty of Raleigh PR: Day 23 – DQ Cakes

February 9, 2015January 31, 2023 Jasmin SessomsBlog, Entry-Level PR Job, Raleigh PR Agency, Wonderfully RandomRestaurant PR, the clairemont team, Triangle DQ

Sprinkles and icing and cakes! Oh my! Yesterday, the Clairemont team hosted a Frozen-themed Valentine’s Day event for one of our beloved clients,  Triangle Dairy Queen. After much planning and preparing, the day had finally approached us. Dairy Queen is famed for its ice cream cakes, and we wanted to give them an official introduction to our friends at Clairemont.

This event turned into a bona fide cake-decorating, finger-licking, Queen-Elsa-spotting party. Kids of all ages flocked from near and far to decorate a sweet treat for their moms and dads. With a little inspiration from the Dairy Queen team, cake beautifying began.

I think that the most gratifying moment of this event was to see the children’s faces brighten when they spotted their favorite Disney character, Queen Elsa, walk up to aid with their designs. What makes DQ cakes so special? All of the cakes at the Triangle Dairy Queen locations are made fresh in-house and are fully customizable for every occasion.

For more than 70 years, DQ has been crafting delicious treats for the entire family. The key to Dairy Queen’s success is simple: a combination of hard-working staff and great-tasting food. With three Triangle locations under our client’s belt, he and his staff are strongly embedded in the local culture and enjoy giving back to the community.

Although much has changed in the world since Dairy Queen’s inception, one constant has remained: DQ restaurants are still the place to find friends celebrating a birthday, stopping by after a date or simply enjoying a sweet treat. If you can’t think of a gift for Valentine’s Day, pop into Dairy Queen and request a custom-made ice cream cake for your sweetie. Dairy Queen’s scrumptious flavors combined with the staff’s boundless design expertise will provide the perfect treat to “heat up” your holiday.
