Clairemont Foodie Takes Charleston

The landing page of the 2018 Charleston Wine and Food Festival captures it all.

Fueled by a contagious passion for the people and places that make Charleston worth celebrating, the annual festival infuses homegrown flavor with top chefs, winemakers, authors, storytellers, artisans, and food enthusiasts from around the globe for a five-day event that spans the first full weekend each March.

That’s it exactly. The love of food, the talent and passion behind it is contagious … which is one of the reasons we love working the restaurant and hospitality industry.

This year, Clairemont CEO Dana Phelps Hughens will be one of our local ambassadors to the Charleston Wine and Food Festival (CWFF) on February 28 – March 4, 2018! She’ll be sampling flavors and fare, and meeting new friends and old at the festival’s five-day packed schedule. In addition to our favorite Charleston buddies like the Cocktail Bandits, we’re excited to support the stunning Triangle talent featured this year!

In the summer of 2014 I had the pleasure of staying at Le Meridien Tampa as one of the hotel’s first guests. It was a fabulous experience that resulted in several subsequent stays. Hats off to general manager Brent Scarbro and his staff for recognizing returning guests and consistently providing excellent customer service. This week’s photo shows one of the ways they made me feel special when I was back at Le Meridien last week.

Read more about why this is one of my favorite places to stay in my previous post called Surprise and Delight: Le Meridien Tampa.

We already knew that client Anthony Carey, general manager of The Siena Hotel, was a shining star in the hospitality industry. So it was no surprise (but definitely an occasion for celebration!) when he earned national acclaim as the 2016 Eastern Region Full-Service General Manager of the Year for Marriott hotels in the Americas.

The Marriott Award

Presented by Marriott International, this accolade recognizes the premiere service and leadership of only one general manager for all full-service Marriott brands, including Marriott, JW Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, EDITION, Gaylord Hotels and Resorts and Autograph Collection hotels.

The Siena Hotel’s Acclaim

The Siena Hotel, the Triangle’s longest-standing AAA-rated Four Diamond hotel, touts a growing list of regional and national accolades, including the prestigious 2015 Hotel of the Year Award for the Autograph Collection in the Americas, the Marriott Service Excellence Award and 19 consecutive Four Diamond awards from AAA. The Siena is ranked number one in Staff Service Overall in the Americas as well as one of the top hotels in Overall Guest Satisfaction for all full-service brands in the Marriott portfolio, including Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott and Renaissance brands. Il Palio, The Siena’s dining establishment led by Chef Teddy Diggs, is North Carolina’s only AAA-rated Four Diamond Italian restaurant and the longest-standing Four Diamond restaurant in the state.

Congratulations, Anthony!

Oh, and we couldn’t help but include this photo as well. As a pet-friendly hotel, The Siena hosts its fair share of four-legged guests. Anthony nabbed a new friend for this snapshot!

Diamonds are more than a girl’s best friend. Anthony Carey, general manager of The Siena Hotel, has a soft spot for them as well!

On January 19, 2016, Clairemont clients Il Palio and The Siena Hotel both received the Four Diamond award from AAA, an accolade recognizing upscale establishments with a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.

2016 marks the 26th consecutive year that Il Palio, the regional Italian restaurant at The Siena Hotel, has garnered this Four Diamond award, establishing Il Palio not only as the only AAA-rated Four Diamond restaurant in North Carolina but also as the longest-standing consecutive restaurant winner in the state. The Siena Hotel, a member of the Autograph Collection by Marriott, has scored the Four Diamond award for 22 consecutive years, claiming the spot as the second-longest consecutive hotel winner in North Carolina.

Congrats to our clients, Anthony Carey and Chef Teddy Diggs!

The Value of A PR Agency: Connection

The Value of A PR Agency: Connection

September 3, 2015January 31, 2023 Cherith AndesBlog, Real Estate PR, Restaurant PR + Hospitality PRdinner parties, event planning, grand opening events, grand re-opening PR, hospitality PR, hotel PR, Raleigh PR Agency, real estate PR, Restaurant PR

At Clairemont, we always maintain a bird’s-eye view of our clients’ trajectories (while of course keeping the details running smoothly). One of the added values of working with a PR agency lies in our ability to connect the dots, often in fun and unexpected ways.

Recently, Clairemont had the opportunity to do just that! While closed for renovations, Il Palio, the premiere Italian restaurant at The Siena Hotel and a Clairemont client, began looking for methods to build its client base while previewing its new menu. Meanwhile, Briar Chapel, one of the largest green communities in the Triangle (and—you guessed it—another Clairemont client) wasIl Palio Briar Chapel Menu seeking an avenue to showcase the distinctive culture of Chapel Hill to prospective home buyers. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had a match made in heaven. We carefully crafted a customized event to maximize resources and meet both clients’ needs.

Clairemont arranged for Briar Chapel to host a VIP dinner for its top prospects, featuring Chef Teddy Diggs, executive chef at Il Palio. Not only did the dinner provide an opportunity for Briar Chapel home buyers to experience the community and chat with realtors, the dinner soiree also allowed Il Palio to showcase its newly designed dishes to one of its target demographics.

Briar Chapel Il Palio Dinner Party 2As the subtle aroma of grilled peaches wafted across the dinner party on the Briar Chapel Clubhouse deck, we saw magic happen. Social media became a flurry of mutual mentions and vibrant conversation from realtors, clients and guests alike. Photos peppered the internet featuring Briar Chapel’s lush backdrop and Chef Teddy’s elegant cooking. The sweet memories forged over good food and genuine laughter arguably carry more sway than any glossy marketing brochure.

At Clairemont, our innate ability to forge creative connections is a trademark of our client service. We love to play matchmaker, and we live to find the special key that transforms our clients’ campaigns from interesting to lasting.
